Наиболее распространенный метод приготовления препаратов хромосом: кусочки ткани после гипотонической обработки и фиксации мацерируют на предметном стекле или же на него наносят несколько капель суспензии клеток, при высушивании на воздухе фиксатор (обычно смесь метанола или этанола с ледяной уксусной кислотой в разном соотношении) быстро испаряется - клетки лопаются, выбрасывая содержимое (в частности, ядро или хромосомы), которое прочно прикрепляется к стеклу; формы М.в.в.
